How is beard transplantation done?
A beard is not like hair because it can be found in very different densities from person to person. Someone with a noticeably sparse beard may not be bothered by this. For this reason, very dense beards are usually not needed for transplantation. If there is a regional beard loss, then the transplantation is planned at the frequency of the beard in the vicinity and harmonized with the environment. If there is no beard at all, in this case, 1000-3000 roots can be transplanted depending on the frequency and limit desired by the person. In a full beard, transplanting 400 roots to the mustache and chin area, 100 roots to the sideburn areas, 1000 roots in total, provides a significant change in appearance. Beard transplantation is performed by taking hair follicles from the fine hair area just above the nape of the neck or above the ears. In beard transplantation, FUE method is applied to those who accept hair shaving and FUT method is applied to those who do not. Unnecessary hair on the lower beard area, chest, lower parts of the neck and cheekbones can also be transplanted to thicken the sparser areas of the beard. Root extraction from these areas, which do not look good due to dense beard, provides a distinct advantage as it provides permanent hair removal in the area.
What is the recovery process after beard transplantation?
There are no scars on the body or neck after beard transplantation. There is a dark red appearance in the transplanted area due to the blood clot coming out of the place where the needles used immediately after the transplantation are inserted, but this appearance is cleaned in the first bath. In order for the transplanted beard to be better nourished by the body, there is an increase in blood supply in the transplantation area and accordingly, there are small redness at the base of the hair. This slight red appearance disappears in 1-2 weeks. After the 2nd week, some of the transplanted beard and mustache experience a temporary shedding called shock shedding. After 4-8 months after the temporary shedding, all of the shedding grows again. The result is natural and permanent.
